Last night I spent some time planning and organizing in preparation for doing some actual scrapbooking. I have several containers of memorabilia and photos to go through, and I wanted to get a plan in place for doing that. I also wanted to make sure that I have a couple of projects lined up and ready to go for my next scrapbooking session in two weeks.
Finally I’m being realistic about how much I can do with the photos I already have, which date back to high school. Convinced that I’ll never be able to scrapbook every single one (yes, once thought that was possible!), I’m now jettisoning the chronological scheme in favor of modular themes – an overall theme, so as travel, hiking, family, etc. with layouts as subsets (the modular part) that might be focused on something specific or taken at a particular occasion. (I started thinking about this a few entries back.) There will be much mixing and matching going on, and that will challenge me creatively as well as organizationally. The gift album I mentioned in my last entry will be one of my first albums that I’ll attempt like this.
I’m hoping that working like this will make it easier and quicker to accomplish individual projects. I’m looking forward to getting started.

I am glad you got to the organizing for next week's event. I haven't done it yet, but may do some today. If I don't get to it, I will just bring the mess and work with it. It isn't as though I don't have enough photos to work with!
